Joey has always had a love for the
performing arts.  At the age of 5 his
parents forced him to take piano
lessons.  Band programs occupied the
majority of his school years.  In 1989 he
was introduced to the world of choral
music with the Disneyland Cast Choir.
Since then Joey has recorded with the
London Symphony and performed at
Disneyland Paris as part of the Azusa
Pacific University choir.  Joey has also
performed with Cypress College
Masterworks Choral and Camerrata
over the past 13 years, most recently
recording the “50 Most Loved
Christmas Carols” CD.

Jack’s introduction to theatre began in Miami when his mother took him
to the Performing Arts Center to see touring companies of
Gypsy (Angela
Lansbury),
The Sound Of Music (Shirley Jones) and Annie Get Your Gun
(Debbie Reynolds) - ever since then there was no stopping him.

When he moved to Las Vegas at the age of 10, he was involved in
children’s theatre and graduated to community theatre projects, both on
and backstage. He eventually moved to California to go to Whittier
College and became immersed in the college theatre world where he
studied acting, directing, stage and lighting design. Upon graduation he
was an intern for the Utah Shakespearean Festival.

Returning to California he started working with the Whittier Community
Theatre directing their productions of
Gypsy and Broadway Bound. He
eventually began directing for the La Habra Depot Theatre (
Little Shop of
Horrors, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, A Funny Thing Happened on the
Way to the Forum, Our Town
and Steel Magnolias), Costa Mesa Civic
Playhouse (the critically acclaimed
A Midsummer Nights Dream), and the
Huntington Beach Playhouse (the award winning productions of
Lend Me
A Tenor
and the OC premiere of The Last Night of Ballyhoo). However his
home theatre was Newport Theatre Arts Center where he directed such
productions as
Beau Jest, Rags, On Golden Pond, Arsenic and Old Lace
and
The Man Who Came to Dinner and also served on their Board of
Directors for six years.

He also made the foray into Los Angeles to direct the world premiere of
Michael VanDuzer's
Hopeful Romantic at the Celebration Theatre and
Beyond Therapy at the Gardner Stages in West Hollywood.

Jack’s extremely happy to be a founding member of Theatre Out with two
of his best friends.
David is thrilled to be the founding managing director of Theatre Out in
Anaheim, California and is more than pleased to be beginning this
adventure with his husband, Joey Baital, and longtime friend and
collaborator, Jack Millis.

David has worked extensively throughout Orange County as both a stage
manager and scenic designer.  He has worked at the La Habra Depot
Theatre, Newport Theatre Arts Center and Costa Mesa Civic Playhouse
on productions including
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the
Forum, Death Trap, Rags, Holiday, A View from the Bridge,  Rumors,
Jerry’s Girls
and Driving Miss Daisy.  In addition, David has served as the
technical director for Crescendo Vocal Ensemble’s annual Christmas
show in Old Town Fullerton.

In Los Angeles, David worked as the stage manager for the West Coast
premiere of Horton Foote’s
Lily Dale for the Pacific Resident Theatre
Company at the Victory Theatre in Burbank as well as Jack Millis’ critically
acclaimed production of
Beyond Therapy at the Gardner Stages in West
Hollywood.

David received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre History and
Dramatic Criticism from Whittier College and his Master of Arts Degree in
Psychology from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles.

Joey is a founding member of Crescendo Vocal Ensemble, an a capella
group based in Orange County.  Crescendo has appeared throughout
Southern California, with performances on the KLOS Mark & Brian radio
show as well as the Mark & Brian Christmas Concert at the Wiltern
Theatre in Hollywood.  In 2005 Crescendo performed with the Golden
State Pops Orchestra at the historic Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro.
Crescendo has produced two full-length albums of their work:
Christmas
with Crescendo
and 'Tis the Season.

In 1998 Joey was fully submersed into the world of musical theatre,
playing a Protean in
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
at the La Habra Depot Theatre.  That marked the start and finish of Joey’s
acting career.

Joey joined Men Alive-The Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus in 2003 and
thoroughly enjoys performing with this great family of men.  Men Alive has
performed in Montreal as part of the 2004 International GALA Choruses
Conference and in San Diego as part of a joint concert with the two men’
s choruses of San Diego.

Joey has an AA degree from Cerritos College and has worked for the
Disney Company since 1989.  Joey has always loved the theatre (even
more so since meeting David in 1997) and is very excited to help found
Theatre Out.
